Eligibility for funding
General eligibility criteria
To be eligible for Wyemando grants, activities must:
- support Western Australian Aboriginal culture and languages and
- benefit cultural and language acquisition by children and young people under eighteen years of age and
- the application must comply with guidelines, conditions & criteria and
- the applicant must be either
- an incorporated body with an ABN or
- auspiced by an incorporated body with an ABN (see Auspicing below) and
- any previous Wyemando grants for completed projects must have been acquitted by the applicant (or auspicing organisation where applicable) and the acquittals accepted by Wyemando
Additional requirements for publication grants
- Publications must be deposited with Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Studies (AIATSIS)
- Where publications are sold for profit, Wyemando encourages the allocation of profits to a ‘future publication fund’ to fund reprints and/or other publications
What Wyemando won’t fund
- Prizes or equipment purchases
- Capital works
- School programs that are part of the school’s existing curriculum or used in academic assessment
- Activities that have already occurred
- Activities carried out by for-profit companies
Auspicing
Individuals or unincorporated community groups may be eligible for grants if they have the support of an incorporated organisation with an ABN which is willing to accept legal responsibility for administration of the grant and delivery of the activity. Local language and cultural centres, Aboriginal corporations or community service organisations may be willing to take on this role for your project or activity.
